Over the years we have imported many Pointers. In this section we will introduce you to the Pointer imports into our kennel that have had the greatest influence upon our breeding program.
The first import to have a significant influence was "Champion Oceanpoint Travelin Man (imported in dam). "Mitchell" was out of Ch & American Champion Luftnase Oceanvue PrimaDona and sired by English Champion Jasmorne Democrat. This import was quite unique into Australia and had a significant impact upon the breed in both Australia and New Zealand. PrimaDona was a full sister to the legendary Luftnase Albelarm Bees Knees, who won the Sporting Group at Westminster along with a huge number of Best In Show's. Bees Knees and was the daughter of Ch Marjetta National Acclaim who went Best In Show at Westminster. The sire Eng Ch Jasmorne Democart was the 2nd highest Dog CC winner in the breed history in the England. We were very grateful to Dr Ron James for allowing us to use Democrat whilst PrimaDona was in quarantine in the UK.
Mitchell had a very good show record winning his first Gundog group at 10 months of age and he went on to become an All Breeds Best in Show winner.
Our next significant import was that of Ch Atsira Never Say Never (Imp Aust) whom we imported from Jan James of Atsira Pointers in South Australia. She was out of Aust Champion Rowenglen Lady Stella, who went Best in Show under Cicely Robertshaw of Crookrise, when she judged the Pointer Specialty in Melbourne, Australia. The sire of this litter was Aust Champion Vossmead Firecrest of Crookrise (Imp UK). He was exported to Australia by Cicely Robertshaw and was all Wyndsmoor breeding on the Sires side with the Dam's breeding being a combination of Crookrise, Vossmead and Traigmhor.
Lucy readily gained her title but unfortunately broke her tail when she was young and was retired from the show ring. Her first litter of three all gained their titles with two going on to win Best in Show awards. From her second litter we already have three Best Gundog winners and a multitude of Class in Show winners.
In June 2001 we imported semen from Canadian and USA Champion Bee Serious Lord Jim. Jim was out of AM Ch Aurahill Treasure Equinox and he was sired by Am Ch Tahari's OH So Serious. Jim was the winner of the USA Pointer Specialty in 2002. We put this semen to Ch Atsira Never Say Never (Imp Aust), which enabled us to combine his breeding with the Wynsmoor and Crookrise breeding behind her. We have been thrilled with this litter that have been consistent winners since their appearance in late 2001. From this litter came the 2002 winner of the New Zealand All Breeds Puppy of the Year contest. . Pointers from this litter consistently win Class In Show and Class In Group awards. We look forward to the ring performance of Pointers we now have from breeding these offspring to our homegrown stock. Puppies from two matings are due to debut very soon. We are indebted to the late Den Lawler and Elsa Lawler of Bee Serious Pointers for enabling Robwyn Pointers to obtain this semen.
